Good morning, Monday. Here's me trying to update more frequently.

Thursday I needed to run that part to Shawn in Santa Barbara. Ok, done, spent the night and came back home Friday morning. Company meeting at the 4-Seasons Biltmore. Nice place, shall we say?

Friday night was spent with a Ventura County Sheriff deputy on a Ride-Along. Officer Marco Hinehon. Nice guy. I always thought nothing happens in Camarillo and I was once again proved right. A couple of traffic stops, no biggie. The dance club never opened. We drove past the club where the officer told me white supremecists hang out. Ugh, I had previously thought it looked like a nice little sports bar. We got a call to a large party, 100 people, and fighting in the streets. The kid that lived at the house was the one who called to have it broken up. The officer told me that's common. All 8 available black-and-whites showed up; the street was blocked, and I saw a stream of kids going to their cars. Once it was obvious that it was over, a few of the officers took off to see if they could nab a couple DUIs.

We had a guy run away from a traffic stop. All they could really get him for was an open container, but we tried to find him. They thought he ran into an apartment complex, and we set up a perimeter around the edge. They didn't have the manpower to search the complex; besides, you'd have to peek over every single fenced ground-level patio. And there was a lot of places he could hide. They had the driver of the car, probably for DUI. The guy chasing him was really upset he got away.

An alarm at the bank; cleaning guy had accidentally set it off. Boring.

My last call before he dropped me off was more interesting. Drug addict; another officer had pulled her over. They have a long history with this girl and they know she's crazy, in part because of her medical problems. She's on her way out of town, going to stay with her aunt in San Bernardino. Her sister is in the passenger seat. They searched her car; no drugs found which is good. Girl was high as a kite though. They're hoping she was telling the truth about leaving town; trying to get away from some guy. They did let her go, but they told her she can't drive, her sister has to drive. The sister seemed responsible. I was amused- it *is* possible to talk more than I do, and say absolutely nothing. Hopefully she will get her act together in SB.

Saturday morning, drive back to Santa Barbara, spend Shawn's break with him. He had 7 hours, minus set-up and tear down of the sound gear, moving it to the other room. Saturday night, they're supposed to finish 9:30 or 10:00 at night, an hour or so to tear down and he'll be done. Ok. I spent a nice evening in the lounge, got myself a couple of hefeweisens, and an appetizer, listening to the live music. Nice evening. It's 11 now, and Shawn still hasn't shown up. Huh. I go peek in the windows; the president of the company is still speaking. Oh. I guess I'll wait in the hotel room. Maybe 11:15, 11;30, he comes in to change clothes. They took a short break so everybody could use the bathroom so he took that opportunity to cut out. He changed, we went back to wait for them to finish. Eventually they did, and his crew packed up the sound gear and the stuff they used for the presentation and we got to bed around 2am. Luckily he didn't have to run people to the airport at 5am as he was originally supposed to. Got to sleep in.

The dogs were not pleased at being left alone. They dumped the trash can. Gah. But everything should be back to normal now.

I drove out to the Pagan Pride day. It's a pretty low-key event. The thing I wanted to see was the Norse circle, and I got there in time. Found my friends which made me happy. I found a pendant that I want but can't justify. I have the website so I can order it. Maybe when I start working more and get a good paycheck.

This group is the first group that I've ever felt like I actually belong. I've found that in the occasional individual person, but never in a group. I've always felt like it's only a matter of time until this one gets tired of me, kicks me out, starts excluding me, something like that. Always that edge, waiting. I've gotten used to being not accepted, the outsider. I'm not entirely sure what to do with acceptance.

Need to start my day.

Thanks. That's the kind of thing I'm not used to! I have some fantastic friends, as individuals, but when a larger group gets together I again get uncomfortable.

Well, don't forget about the annual pumpkin hunting/carving coming up next month! Group carving is SO much fun. You can't miss it. :)
